[vc_row type=”in_container” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]On Thursday 8th November, staff from Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind) will meet with innovators from across the East of England to showcase the latest ideas in suicide prevention at the Eastern Academic Health Science Network (EAHSN) Suicide Prevention Innovation Exchange.
In 2016, the suicide rate in the East of England was 9.5 per 100,000 population and, consequently, the EAHSN identified suicide prevention as a priority area. In order to address this, the EAHSN challenged service providers to identify effective and affordable ways to support those experiencing suicidal thoughts and combat factors such as social isolation.
CPSL Mind has answered this challenge by proposing an idea focused on peer to peer support via a web based app which will be showcased at the event on Thursday. Suicide prevention has been a key focus of CPSL Mind’s work for several years – with the ground-breaking STOP Suicide campaign launched in 2014.
